A
steel computer case
|

![]() |
This case is primarily 16 guage hot rolled steel, attached to a commercial computer case with screws. The finish is ground and lacquered to preserve the look. The feet, and latches are bronze castings. The louvers are torch welded (I would TIG them, if I did it again) It covers an air filter and an extra fan. Originally, I designed this case to operate in my studio, which can be a very dusty and messy place sometimes.
Note that this photo was taken before I had installed the front door latch |

| I apologise for the poor quality of these images, but they were taken with one of the early digital cameras (Casio QV100) They are all I have, and I have since sold the case. | The power button is made from a piece of purpleheart wood. |

Beechwood paneling. The edging around the door is red plexiglass with LEDs embedded behind. They show around the door when it is closed.
| A Bronze foot. Sclupted and sandcast by me, as are all the castings. |

The front door latch. It is sprung and latches when the door is pushed shut.

Side door latch. The whole side panel hinges up, giving good access to the computer inside.

This is the
handle on the top of the case. It really makes lugging it around a lot
easier - you can carry it like a suitcase. This was hammered and torch
welded, which is what gives it the rustic look.
